Why “institute?”

Because I study things and I’m curious. I know through learning and doing. I also have a hybrid path of artist and counselor. Those fields don’t allow me to stop learning.

I like to think about how ancient peoples met their basic needs using just their hands and available materials. Similarly, I’m always curious about where behaviors come from and why we have them. Working with clay, and working with people gets me curious and answers my questions at the same time.

Plus, I like monsters and textures. You’ll find my works will contain variations of both.

Why this logo?

The cloudy, lumpy logo I made is more significant than it looks. Anyone with an eye for graffiti might find some letter forms in there. If you see them, let me know. They’re hard to un-see. Plus, the logo is universal for a number of artistic things I do. It’s a fluid shape like clay, and it’s squishy like plush. So it works.
